Steph Catley nominated for Australian PFA Player of the Year award
Arsenal defender Steph Catley has been nominated for the Australian PFA Player of the Year award as she targets a fourth win and third in succession.
There’s another player-voted award story, this time from Australia, because Steph Catley, my favourite, has been nominated for the Australian PFA Player of the Year award.
Steph has already won the award three times, in 2020, 2024 and 2025. She’s now hoping to make it three consecutive victories and four overall.
The award considers performances for both club and country. Steph made 28 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season while continuing to play a major role for Australia.

We were talking about how players from outside England can sometimes be viewed mainly through what we see of them at Arsenal. Supporters in their home countries often have a much broader sense of who those players are and what they’ve achieved throughout their careers.
Australia’s players clearly haven’t missed what Catley has been doing with Arsenal.
Catley could win the award for a fourth time
Catley’s nomination is particularly impressive given that the award is decided by her fellow Australian players.
If she wins again, it’ll be her fourth Australian PFA Player of the Year award overall and her third in succession.
I’ll be at the front of the crowd wishing Steph all the best. I’m sure she’ll find room on the bookshelf for another award.
